Day to Day, May 14, 2007 · Texas now ranks among the country's top five states for number of wineries. Told by NPR's Wade Goodwyn, includes comments from several leading Texas producers. The Lone Star state is as large as France. From the dusty panhandle through the Hill Country and down to the Gulf Coast, wines are being made in three, distinct climates. New Research Center opened in Fredericksburg |

January 17th was to have been the official ground breaking ceremony for the Texas Pierces Disease Research Center located in Gillespie County just outside Fredericksburg Texas. The official ceremonies were delayed due to an Arctic blast that blew into Texas that week. The center finally opened it's doors June 14th 2007. |

Texas Wine tours the Big Apple |

Texas Wine writer Wes Marshal along with chef and author of Cowgirl Cuisine Paula Disbrowe and former football player turned vigneron Alphonse Dotson payed a visit to several locations in New York city in an attempt to change peoples (wine writers) minds about the quality of Texas wines. The trip was organized by the Texas Department of Agriculture. Check out the Dallas Morning News article for other details of the trip. |
